Claire M. Wade BSc (hons) PhD is the Chair of Computational Biology and Animal Genetics within the Faculty of Science. Prof Wade earned her BSc from the University of NSW where she also completed her doctoral training in quantitative genetics.
Prof Wade developed a strong international profile working with world changing genome scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Broad Institute genomics where she played an important analytical role in the genome projects for mouse, dog, and horse (as project lead). She returned to Australia as the first ever female Professor within the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Veterinary genomics and mammalian genome biology continue to be her main research focus.
